Darussalam Mosque, Singapore, headed by its chairman H. Abdul Mutalif Hashim, has been supporting Fajar Hidayah's program in Aceh since the early days of the establishment of Fajar Hidayah Aceh. Darussalam Youth accompanied directly by the chairman, were the first group to assist Fajar Hidayah Aceh in its early operation. The program continued and expanded to other groups from Singapore. These activities indirectly led to the support of the construction of the new Fajar Hidayah Complex in Banda Aceh by The Singapore Government through Singapore Internationa Foundation. In August 2006, 16 orphans from Fajar Hidayah Aceh was accomodated by the Mosque during their visit to attend Singapore National Day in Singapore. For Ramadhan and Idul Fitri, Darussalam once again invited a different group of 12 orphans from Fajar Hidayah to spend two weeks in Singapore and spend a few days with Singaporean family in a foster parent program. The trip captured the public's attention in Singapore and broadcasted by Singapore National Television and printed by various printed media. One of the orphans, Muhibuddin was given a chance to Azan at Darussalam Mosque, broadcasted nationwide by national radio. Ibu Hj. Ragita Cahyani Hutomo Chairperson of Aden Tujuh Foundation, Charge d' Affair of The Indonesian Embassy, Mr. Joseph Lim of Singapore International Foundation, Mrs. Puspa Sivan, Director of Parent Teacher Child Learning School, Mr. Hamzah of Global Impact and other distinct guests attended Appreciation Night at Darussalam Mosque, Singapore, November 6, 2006 hosted by Fajar Hidayah and Darussalam Mosque. |
